I have been teaching practical photography in Berlin, Germany for eight years. Practical photography entails a pragmatic combination of theory and technique. It encompasses the acquisition of skills necessary to communicate effectively through images and the establishment of a professional workflow to implement images and skills efficiently. It combines camera handling, analogue darkroom techniques, studio lighting and digital editing mixed in with psychology and gestalt theory.
